Dearest,
I really thank you for your review. Still, I wanted to point out that the recorder wasn’t made in Rome oratory, as you said, but in the Oratorio del santissimo crocifisso in Castelluccio: another place, another city. This information was written in the CD, and you could see this mistake just in IDAGIO. I’d be glad to send you the original CD for free if you send me your address, so that you can appreciate the wonderful Leonpordi cello’s tone, Milan school, completely original and just one of the few 5 strings still existing in the world.
This is the fifth review of our CD, the other 4 were amazing (5 stars , superlative) both for the performance and for the quality of the recorder.
CD of the month on musiweb international; Brian Clark in early music review said “well done Bologna Baroque, well done, Tactus”. It’s fair if someone didn’t like the Leonporri’s tone, but the tracks you posted on the blog were really of bad quality, nothing to comprare with the CD. I personally suggest your readers to buy the CD, I garante that the sound it’s wonderful and fascinating and the music is unexpectedly beautiful.
There’s just one publication UT ORPHEUS of those 6 sonatas that was taken care by us. I’d glad, for this reason, if you decide to play this wonderful sonatas or even to let your students study them. You can easily play them also with a 4 strings cello.
I’d be even more glad if Elinor Frey includes them in her program.
Who knows, maybe one day we’ll manage to have a concert together: two 5 strings have an incredible sound, already tested.
